Native Wildflower Postcard: Wild Lupine
In the 19th century, amateur naturalists preserved their botanical specimens in herbarium collections. Pressed flat and carefully labeled, they served as aids in identifying different species and cultivars. This card features wild lupine, a wildflower native to the Midwestern US. Thought brightly-colored hybrid varieties are now popular garden plants, the wild variety is always blue or purple.
Cards measure 4" x 6" and can be sent via the US postal service with a standard postcard stamp.
