Native Wildflower Postcard: Bloodroot
In the 19th century, amateur naturalists preserved their botanical specimens in herbarium collections. Pressed flat and carefully labeled, they served as aids in identifying different species and cultivars. This card features bloodroot, a wildflower native to the Midwestern US. The plant gets its name from the distinctive red-orange color of its rhizomes.
Cards measure 4" x 6" and can be sent via the US postal service with a standard postcard stamp.
